Peper Harow X Arundel Festival 2016
Colourful bunting criss-cross the sky as preparations get underway for this year’s Arundel Festival.
Anchored around Arundel’s medieval castle, the town and its streets come alive with an array of exciting activities, from acting, dancing to pop-up stalls and exhibitions. This is a celebration of the arts in all its forms.
On the Festival’s first weekend, the castle will be holding a 15th Century tournament, with sword fighting, archery displays and falconry, all tied together with authentic costume and story-telling.
Among this year’s highlights will the Dragon boat race taking place on Saturday the 27th where you’ll be treated to 10 teams racing up the Arun river culminating in a dramatic finale, all in aid of the Arundel Lido.
The town itself sits in the heart of the British countryside, so why not grab your bikes for a more energetic exploration of the South Downs with guided tours beginning Saturday the 21st. For those looking to relax, there will be country walks, historical town tours, and wine trails celebrating British wines.
Throughout the week, there will be a continual supply of music and entertainment, as well as talks, poetry and classical music in various locations around the town. For the kids, look out for face painting, treasure hunts and more!
At Peper Harow, we love everything British and are proud to be present during this exciting and dynamic event. So do drop by our store along Tarrant street for a quick hello and browse our English-inspired Peper Harow socks.
